Bye Bye Mr. Chesty!

Our big garage chest freezer bit the dust after 13 years of service and four cross country trips. Jerry found a suitable replacement in the scratch and dent department of our base furniture store.

Meet his replacement, Miss A-Cup. She's a smaller chest, but she'll do fine. We don't buy month loads of food at one time like we used to.

Here's a preview of my Mother's Day gift. I went online and ordered some Fleece Artist and Indie Dyer fingering weight yarn from the Loopy Ewe. It will be for squares for the Barn Raising Quilt. I have over fifty squares done. I am now at the slow and steady pace now.

On Saturday, I was able to make it to my monthly spinning group with my friends Joanne and Katie. I spun up my Lisa Souza merino roving from Stitches. Then I spun some more Saturday night while watching a retro comic book movie called The Spirit. It was visually interesting, though the plot was a mess.

Lastly, I have to show you my sister's new baby. Go ahead and say it, Nice Ass!!! Isn't he a cutie.

Argh...I wanted to make that Saturday group with y'all...but I actually just went home from Knotty Girl early. Being a "single parent" for almost a month while the husband is underway is tough...

How strange, I was just reminiscing about our old chest freezer at our knit night yesterday. Happy freezing!
